State Bird - “I Don’t Love U Anymore”

The first thing I do when I listen to a new band is pick out the other bands they remind me of. For State Bird, this was simple: they bring some of musical experimentation of Animal Collective, but make it easier to digest. With songs that are quirky and fun without being weird or feeling forced, State Bird have already found themselves in heavy rotation in my library.

“I Don’t Love U Anymore” comes off their upcoming EP 4 New Songs and does a great job of showcasing what the band does well. Plus, for a title that implies downtrodden subject matter, the song is surprisingly bouncy, and I think it’s a great song for the pre-Friday blues.

This is a great write up for the new State Bird stuff. I am really excited to get this stuff out there.
